Home Maker

I thought I would have ample time to blog since I am now 'working part time' from home, and
am a fulltime Home Maker.

Boy was I wrong.

It has been almost a month since the last day of me working in the corporate world.
28 days to be exact.

and only now that I can blog.

So how is my life?
Hectic.
Image result for busy pregnant mom with toddlers clip art

Busy being pregnant. Busy with looking after the 2 munchkins.
with the house and cooking.
and planning for business and life.

boy oh boy.

The most energy draining is not the home making, but the constant attention given to the children.

with healthy meal preparations in the morning for the loved ones,
yup, i look this good whilst preparing. dream on
then waking up the little ones, then bathing them and feed them. and sending Ayra to LC.
and we got home, sometimes i get to think of the business.
few times on the part time job that I am doing.
then it's Amna's meal. again. she likes to eat. and so does this baby in me.
so we eat again.

then it's almost 1230.
and it's time for lunch preparation.
and time to pick up Ayra.

then letting them play, along with quarreling between the girls.

most of the time, Amna is the one who started it with Ayra. she insisted on having things her elder sister is having. hook by crook.

and making sure they eat their lunch (feed them).
and bathing them.
to cool off in the middle of the blazing hot afternoon.
so they can have their nap easily.
face it, i need the nap too!
badly.

we we wake up, Hub is home.
and I am saved.
hahahaha

so far I am enjoying the time that i have till i pop.
i am now 31-32 weeks.
few more weeks to go.
and i have not packed the Hospital bag.
the baby's clothes are not ready.
still in the laundry.
and th drawers must be rearranged.

goshh i am so full of things to do and ideas to execute to the house.

my neurons are synapsing!

no wonder i am super duper tired.

i wish i am this. but instead i am this:

i need a spaaaaa and massage!

more to tell, mental note:

-my vege garden s blooming and havesting!
-my drawer organizing tips
-baby's and birth prepation
-spa oh spa
-business project revelation
Diy projects.

i am a busy mommy and home maker.

Robber's Attempt

This is a real story.
I need to share this for the benefit of all.
(dramatic tak bunyi?)

Jokes aside, one of our colleagues went through this traumatic event that almost
cost her her car, or even her life.
but Alhamdulillah, she managed to survive.

Ms N went out with her friends who came from Perak to Seksyen 7 Shah Alam.
She brought them to I-city for sightseeing etc. and it was about 11pm that they decided to head home.

Going out from I-City, in the car that Ms N was driving,
they were queing to make a U-turn to head home.
Suddenly, an Indian man on a motorcycle came
and asked them to go out from the line and out of the car.
Thankfully, they did not follow.Ii mean, seriously? Why would anybody?

So they proceed to make the u-turn and speed off.
However, the man was not putting on hold or lose hope.
He pursued them and he was chasing them in his bike.

They got scared. Really scared.
He started to show a long metal and waving it around.
He was scaring them off.
Ms N being behind the wheel got even more scared.

She could not think straight.
She didn't know where to go.
She even drove to around the Hotel Art area,
where it could be quite dark and quiet to seek help.

Until she remembered the police station.
And in that kind of time, the only police station she could think of was in Section 8.

So she sped off to section 8, and while speeding,
the man still kept on harrasing them.
He even drove in front of her car, and stopped.
He wanted them to knock him off.
The gesture was like inviting to be knocked off.
But she managed to divert her speeding car.
At 180km/h, she was really taking a high risk of getting into
an accident, especially at red stops.

Alas, she managed to find and went into the section 8 police station.
As soon as she got in, the man showed her the
Magic Middle Finger, and went off.

She quickly got out of her car, trembling and
crying so hard for what has happened.

I am scared too just listening to her story..
this happened in Shah Alam.
We live in Shah Alam. and it doesnt feel safe anymore!

But the lessons that we have here is..

Dont go out at night. after 9pm. or 10pm.
it doesn't help that you have a man with you, cos
Ms N was with 1 man and 2 girls.

Despite all the fear and adrenaline rush that you are having during that frightening moment,

a. Never open the window to succumb to the robber's needs
b. Think fast of the nearest police station that u can go to.
c. Honk your car all the way there to create attention.
d. Switch on your video from your phone. Capture the moment.
This could be used as an evidence later to the police. It helps them to hunt him down.
e. Memorize the plat number.
f. Call 999. At least he can see you are talking to someone on the phone.

Unfortunately, she didnt do all above cos her mind got blank.
But despite the chase and all, they managed to be safe and sound.
and now they are dealing with the post-trauma event.

Please be safe everybody.

My Kitchen Rules

i've posted something in my previous post on kitchens.

what i wanted etc for a new project.

and ive been quiet on it.

since i am on medical leave, i can blog on this happily.

we moved in to our new house on January 2015.
the prev one was put to rent.
this was unexpected rezeki from Allah.
alhamdulillah, so many alhamdulillah.

initially, we wanted to sell it off. but my heart said no.
not only that it has so many first memories and sentimental values, but i was thinking of my children and whether they can afford one in the future.
so we decided to keep it and let it become an asset.

alhamdullilah, Allah eased our search for a good tenant.

it has been about 8 months now and i am thankful to Allah for bringing this lovely couple to us.

so, for the kitchen project:
Kitchen is the Heart of the Home

i have to make sure our kitchen is up to My standard as i will be spending a lot of time there.
i cook a lot. well, daily basis.
so, having a good set up, ventilation, feel, etc is really important to me.

as i mentioned, i like it to be traditional contemporary.
i wanted it white
something that does not bore easily.

so, welcome people to my kitchen:

i chose wooden doors because they give a natural feeling to the area.
it feels real. ive had acrylic before and yes it was pretty. but i got bored easily.
i wanted homey feeling more. so wooden it is.

the table top was from Solid surface material. there were proc and cons on types of table top. u can always goole it or read it from Houzz.
for me, i was inspired by Houzz. it became my source of idea and knowledge on materials etc.

an island is something that i have long dream of.
so we got one from Ikea.
mind u, i had to wait almost 6 weeks for that island to arrive. ikea was out stock when we wanted to buy it then. and it was worth the wait.
i was willing to work on the smallest space just to wait for this piece.
i like that i can roll my pie on the wooden top of the island. i can bake easily and i have so many space.
our daily dinner is there at the island, instead at the dining table.
it's homey.

we have separated the kitchen into 2: wet and dry.
in the dry kitchen is where i used the wooden door. and Hub's idea for the on the counter sink.
it gives a contemporary feeling to it.

i chose my own tiles for the wall of the kitchen.
we had to take out the old ugly tiles and put a new one.
i chose greyish colour to balance between modern and traditional feeling.

we bought a stool for my children to step on when they need to wash their hands.
and for me to use when i need to open the tall units.
as u can see, my cabinets are up to the ceiling.
i like the fulling effect that it has.
it makes your kitchen appear bigger.
and u have many2 space to put your things (slow moving items).

the wet kitchen is at the back there. near to the door.
and it has double sink for washing dishes and drying them.
i put a rack on the wall to keep all my cooking pots and pans.
sorry, pictures later.
the kitchen is near to my herbs garden so anytime i need to spice up, i just head out the back door and pick the leaves.

we havent got the chance to furnish the floor, but so far they have not bugged me that much.

the stickers on the wall are for reminders. of what we need to buy, the weekly activities,
and more importantly, a place where the girls can scribble on.

i have my Morphy Richard kettle to match the area.
;)

so, it may not be somewhat nice to others, but it is for me.
i love every single bits of it.

i love the warmth, homey feeling.
the ample space that we have for our family hangouts and activities.

this Kitchen, is the heart of our home.

Ps: after so many searches on the most suitable kitchen cabinet maker..i finally went with Chan Kitchen. I recommend them to everyone anytime. Their service is good. Even the after sales service. And price?? Very2 reasonable. I went to several companies with same layout and material.but Chan was the cheapest. Cheapest by thousands! Im happy!!

Our Home's Best Friend

Meet our new beloved robotic best friend:

We have a name for her. it's Livi.
Initially I proposed the name to be Vivi. you know, Vivi the Vacuum.
but Ayra kept on pronouncing Livi instead of Vivi. in the end, Livi it is.

so, Livi is a breed of Neato. coming from the species of Vacuum cleaner. but upgraded species, a robotic one that is. which makes her super duper cool.

I decided to buy her one fine day, after many many thinking and googling.
Googling for the best brand and most efficient one in the market of robotic vaccums.

there are many many robotic vacuums in the market. a lot! from the cheap ones to the most expensive ones. I have to look at many aspects before deciding that Livi the Neato Robotic Vaccum should be ours.

I had to invest in one. Reason: i'd go crazy looking at all the hairs on the floor, despite us cleaning or vacuuming after it in the morning. my hair is falling off like rain. im suprised i'm not bold! and we are super duper tired!

and the dust. when the hairs are there, they eventually gather together and collect dusts.
dusts of all looks and shapes. this did not only hurt my eyes, but it causes our eczema and asthma to worsen.

another reason is i pitied Mr Hub for doing a lot of house chores. he and i are alike. we hate dust. or hair. or anything messy. we cannot help but kemas. and most of all these ' hard work' thingie will be done by him. i am grateful for this man.

so, for our 5th wedding anni, i decided to get him..er..US, a robotic vacuum!
and our luck, there was a special sale on Neato. only in that one week period. and we managed to grab it on the last day of the sale. fuhhhh. managed to save almost RM1k.

it is worth the high price.
we no longer crack our back pushing and pulling the big vaccum whenever we see irritants on the floor. we just click on Livi. and there she goes.

Neato has a different specifications from other brands.
why i chose Neato is that it can SCAN the room before proceeding to work.
by scanning, it will vacuum the spaces in random motion, not on straight line like others.
therefore, no bumping into wall, or chairs or tables. it avoids, or lalu tepi.
another reason, we could put it on schedule. say, every Monday, Wednesay and Friday, Livi will go to work at 10am. or 11am. or whichever time we want her to work. that way, when we got home, house is clean. happy!!
and she has a home. a home she could come home to when she's tired, or she's done. she's tired when her battery is running low and it affects her cleaning efficiency. she would go back to her house, take a nap by recharging her battery, wake up from her nap and pick up where she last worked on.
smart! that way, doesnt matter how and when, she'll finish the job by the time we got home.
she knows how to go back home on her own. so no need to wait for us to bring her there.

she will tell you from her messages on her condition. let say, her brush is stuck on the bulu2 tepi karpet, she will come out with a beep noise and show us a note on her screen.
we just untanggle her, and she resumes.

before leaving work, we will angkat siap2 all the carpets and potential things that might make her stuck. it's not really that difficult.

so far, she has been with for a month. and we are very2 happy. our weekends are more free. we are more relaxed. and Mr Hub is happy happy happy.
we can concentrate on other things like lipat baju and playing with the children.

Amna is scared of her though. ;) i think she thinks Livi is alive.

Now, if only there's a robotic cloth folder.

p/s: not a sponsored post. just a satisfied customer.

Project Kitchen

I am onto something big which i wont disclose just yet.

but, somewhere along the line, one of the components involved is the kitchen.

Kitchen is my fav place in a home.
kitchen, is simply the heart of the house.
because, it is the place where 'love' is prepared for the entire home.

it must be neat, clean, and homey.

I am currently drawn into a contemporary type of kitchen.
i'm done with modern type, which is what my current kitchen looks like;
the typical 3G acrylic door.

i have a red 3g acrylic door, with black concrete table top.

what drives me really2 crazy, is
I Cannot See Where The Ants Are!

Oh my.
they annoy me to the max!
i have come up to a battling stage with them where i'd go berserk trying to murder them all.
Murder.
wahahahaha.
i am murdering all the ants.

i cannot see their steps on the table top cos they blend into it.
all of a sudden, they are already making a long train chain on it.
marching on and singing 'The Ants Go Marching One by One, Hurrah, Hurrah'
 pffft

 i am so annoyed.
they seem to be everywhere!
and, i notice, there's more than a type of ants nesting or marking their lands in my kitchen and home.

there's the red one, the black one, the medium size one, and the gelabah one.
at first i tot i was making up names for the gelabah ones.
but Mr Google told me, they are actually ants called Crazy Ants!
i assume they are the same.
the gelabah one is the small black one which runs like mad if u start to meddle with their train track.
and 'keep-on-drowining-one' is the red one and the black one which u constantly found in your kettle.

i once saw the ants lining beneath the kettle where the water droplets were, and drinking the water.
so cute.
but, still annoying.

(wonder how is the Pharaoh Ants.)

so, back to my point: the kitchen,.
again,  black table top might be good for the stains where it hides away defects from the eye.
but it is a pain if u r a neat freak like me.
i like my kitchen to be spotless. regardless whether i can see them or not.

i need to see and know that it is clean, and tidy and neat.

so, coming to my findings of the new likeable kitchen or dream kitchen,
i fell in love with something like the pics below:

i like the wooden texture.
it gives a homey feeling when we step into it.

i know the white color will definitely aggrevates the OCD side of me,
but i cant help it. i still want it.

Houzz App is to be blame

Wishlist asap:

1. White shaker door
2. Ceiling height cabinet
3. Quartz table top, whitish greyish
4. Stainless steel door handle
5. wooden top island with white cabinet
6. White sink on top

ah.. im in love.

Hub complaints that i think too much of the kitchen.
as if it is as big as the house.

i have to!
it's the heart of the home.
